Alaska Board Denies Appeal of Palin Complaint

"The state personnel board has rejected the appeals filed by a woman whose ethics complaints against former Gov. Sarah Palin have been dismissed.

At a meeting Wednesday, board member Al Tamagni called Andree McLeod a chronic complainer and said she appears to have a personal vendetta against Palin. McLeod accused Tamagni of being complicit in what she called a culture of corruption, the Anchorage Daily News reported.

"For anyone to even criticize a person like myself who wants to file complaints and does so and then call me a serial complainer and then complain about the cost? What is the cost of corruption? What is the cost of the culture of corruption that you are now complicit in, of the Palin-Parnell administration? Can you answer that Al?" McLeod said.

She said the board is dedicated to defending public officials rather than serving the public.

McLeod has filed six complaints against the former governor, the most recent complaint dismissed by the board, McLeod said Palin should have transferred her duties to then-Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell when she was campaigning outside the state as Sen. John McCain's running mate last year.

McLeod has also alleged that two of Palin's top aides misused their official positions for Palin's personal and political gain.

And she contended in another complaint that Palin improperly used state staff, property, time and equipment for partisan political purposes.

Wednesday's board meeting got heated at times. Tamagni told McLeod "it appears like you have a personal vendetta." McLeod responded angrily, "How dare you. How dare you, Al."

At one point, board chairwoman Debra English threatened to call security, saying McLeod was not acting professionally."
